OLYMPIAD PURPOSE: to allow students from different countries of the world realize their creative potential with the help of distance contest.

AWARDS and PRIZES
The winners of Olympiad are awarded with the diplomas of Russian Education Academy and traditional Russian souvenirs.

PARTICIPATION IN OLYMPIAD
Individual students or school groups can apply for the Olympiad. Individual applicants and coordinators of the organized groups of students send their application forms to olymp@eidos.ru. Subject: "Olymp_Application".

APPLICATION FORM
1. Name, Surname.
2. F/M
3. Grade, School, City, Country.
4. Contact E-mail to receive Olympiad tasks and results.
5. Name, Surname, Contact E-mail of the group coordinator (teacher, parent).

OLYMPIAD REGULATIONS:
1. The Organization of International Distance Heuristic Olympiad is provided by  Distance Education Center "Eidos", Moscow, Russia. The local organization of Olympiad is provided by local coordinators and schools - participants.

2. The Olympiad is carried out among the registered participants in the following age groups: 5-7 y.o., 8-10 y.o., 11-12 y.o., 13-15 y.o, 16-18 y.o.

3. The Olympiad consists of five Nominations with heuristic tasks. The tasks are open - they don't have beforehand known answers. To do the tasks you should think of your own versions, give your own opinions, and carry out your own research, but not to send the already known information. The main criteria of students' works estimation are non-typical answers, creative efficiency, and depth of the world-view. The Olympiad Judges chooses the best works in each Nomination separately. The winners of Olympiad are those participants, who are able to collect the biggest amount of scores in all the Nominations in their age group.

4. It is recommended for the participants to carry out the Olympiad tasks during 2-3 hours (for the senior groups - 3-5 hours) with breaks to rest. The beginning and ending of the local event is determined by the local coordinator according to the conditions.
The additional time is given for sending and transferring the works. The works of the participants of Olympiad are sent to the Olympiad Committee at the day of their fulfillment no later than 12.00 p.m. (local time).

5. The participants can do the Olympiad tasks in "paper", and then type their works on the computer without any changes. The local coordinators can help the children to type the answers, however, editing and changing of the works is not allowed. It is recommended to include the file "readme" with comments to students' work. The senior participants do their works by themselves.

WORKS STRUCTURE

The work of each registered participant of Olympiad is made out separately and has the following structure:
- Age Group 
- Name, Surname of the participant.
- Grade, School, City, Country.
- Name, Surname, Contact E-mail of the group coordinator (teacher, parent).
- The answers to the Nomination tasks (are written on the same page):
1. PRESENTATION … (Answer)
2. RESEARCH. … (Answer) …

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. The participants' works should be done in Win 1251 or in gif (jpg) format. You can send your works in txt. or doc.

2. The file should be named in small Latin letters no more than 8, e.g. bosh.doc.

3. The photos (jpg) and pictures (gif) should not exceed 30 KB for one separately. Their names also include author's name and picture number, e.g. bosh 1.gif or bosh 2.jpg.

SENDING WORKS TO COMMITTEE

1. The participants' works should be sent in zip.or arj. files, the size of each zip or arj. file must not exceed 200 KB! One work can be sent in several letters in zip. or arj. files.

2. The participants' works should be sent by the separate letter to olymp@eidos.ru. In Subject of the letter should be written in Latin letters: Age Group, City and Surname of the participant, for example:5-7_Michigan_Bosh.

3. The participants' works should be sent no later than 12.00 p.m. (local time) at the day of their fulfillment.

The results of Olympiad and the best works of the Olympiad participants will be published on Center "Eidos" server: http://www.eidos.ru/
